Broken Resolutions

Updated: Mar 23, 2022

At Broken Bow, we have three beer releases that must be on time. The first just passed, with our anniversary Broken In Russian Imperial Stout, out on August 17. Upcoming is our Kölsch, in celebration of the German Kölschfest every February. The last time-sensitive release is Broken Resolutions, an IPA that is available slightly before “dry” resolutions are made, and after those resolutions are broken.

This limited release IPA not only has a name that makes us laugh, but it also gives us an opportunity to take a moment to look back on the year, and forward to the future. At Broken Bow, 2016 has been an exciting year full of adventures, additions, achievements… and of course, great beer!

This year saw many new developments for the brewery, both in production and in our tasting room. We installed an outdoor grain silo and acquired a new and improved canning line, which increased output and efficiency. We amped up our barrel selection with the creation of our barrel room, and finally started selling our Broken Oktoberfest in cans! Construction was also completed on our outdoor beer garden, where you can bring your dog, play a game of corn hole, and charge your devices on our solar-powered table umbrellas. Our revamped outdoor area was well-utilized during some of our larger events this year! At Broken Bow, we are proud of our contributions to the local community. We partnered in an event last summer with the Sharing Shelf, which resulted in under-privileged children in Westchester receiving new backpacks and school supplies. We worked with local animal shelters for a fundraiser and dog adoption event, which resulted in many dogs finding their “fur-ever” homes. We also participated in an event this fall with local chefs and restaurants, which raised funds to benefit the Food Bank for Westchester. Lastly, in October we had our third annual Chili Cook-Off competition between Eastchester EVAC, Police, and Fire Departments, with the proceeds benefitting Family Services of Westchester. Congratulations to Eastchester EVAC for winning first place this year!

Broken Bow reached several milestones in 2016. In November our Belgian Golden Strong Ale, Old Split-Foot, won the gold medal in its category at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. Our Barleywine Ale is being distributed by the Microbrewed Beer of the Month Club, which made it the first Broken Bow Brew to be available in all 50 states. In August, we celebrated Broken Bow’s third anniversary with a party and limited release of seven different editions of barrel-aged Russian Imperial Stout.

Looking ahead to 2017, we plan on moving forward with excitement, energy and momentum. Our future goals include being a part of more events which help others in our community and making great beer to share with family and friends in special times. We look forward to the release of Broken Resolutions 2017, and looking back at all the things we’ll have accomplished because of the support and loyalty of our amazing customers! All of us at Broken Bow Brewery would like to thank you for being a part of what we do, and we wish a very happy and safe New Year from our family to yours!

Cheers!
